Starting the Buying Process

Looking to buy a home? Here are the steps to getting started with The Southbound Group.


Get your finances in order.

Start by getting a full picture of your credit. Obtain copies of your credit report. Make sure the facts are correct, and fix any problems you find.


Speak to a lender.

Next, find a suitable lender and get pre-approved for a loan. This will put you in the ready position to make an offer when you do find the right house. It is policy for us to have a pre-approval letter in hand before we can start looking at houses. If you need a lender recommendation, we are happy to put you in touch with one!


Complete a Buyer Questionnaire.

During your pre-approval process, we’ll ask you to complete our Buyer Questionnaire. This is an opportunity for us to learn more about you and your needs so that we can make the most out of our next step. This is also a great forum for you to voice any concerns or ask any questions so we can set and, more importantly, meet expectations early in the process.


Schedule a buyer consultation.

Once we receive your Buyer Questionnaire, we’ll ask you to come in for a buyer consultation. At this meeting we’ll discuss the differences between your wants and needs, review the buying process, answer any questions from the Buyer Questionnaire and develop a plan of action specific to your timeline and situation.
