The holiday season is officially upon us. Here are some tips on how to prepare for this special time with friends and family.
Use Seasonal Scents: There is nothing more inviting than a home that smells nice. You can create a stovetop smell by using oranges, cloves, and cinnamon, or purchase some holiday-scented candles. Light them about 30 minutes before guests arrive to ensure the house smells just right. Be careful not to combine too many scents or it could be overwhelming and uninviting.
Clean the Fridge and Oven: If you are going to be cooking a large meal, now is the time to make sure the oven and refrigerator are cleaned out and ready to be used. You will need room to store the food before serving and then afterward for any leftovers.
Use a crockpot for hot chocolate or mulled wine: If you want to serve a warm drink at your holiday party but don’t want to leave the stove on or occupy a burner while cooking, a crockpot is a perfect way to serve a yummy cup of hot chocolate or seasonal drink to your guest.
Rearrange your room: It’s perfectly fine to move your furniture around during the holidays to make it easier to place a Christmas tree. This will also allow guests to see each other and move easily through your home.
Stock up on Essentials: If you are going to have guest staying with you, make sure you grab a few extra rolls of paper towels and toilet paper. You might also want to have extra toiletries on hand in case a guest forgets to bring something.
Don’t Stress: It’s easier said than done, right? But remember only you know if something doesn’t turn out the way you wanted it to. Your guest would rather have a happy you than a stressed-out, frazzled mess. So, let the small things go and enjoy your holidays!
